GRAMMY U Student Representative

Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Currently be enrolled as a sophomore or junior in university. Full time status is not required.
  • Be a GRAMMY U student member.  
  • Have personal access to a computer and internet to complete duties.
  • Have at least $300,000 in vehicle insurance (this position requires occasional travel to and from events and meetings).
  • Be able to work independently from home and attend staff meetings at various locations in Austin, Texas.
  • Display an interest in music and a commitment to a career in the recording industry.
  • Possess strong leadership and organizational skills as well as verbal, written, and analytical abilities. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) is essential.
  • Be self-motivated with the ability to manage important tasks and priorities.
  • Be well-connected at university (i.e. student organizations, fellow peers, advisors, career centers).  Extracurricular activities a plus.

Description

  • Duration is for one full school year unless otherwise indicated at time of interview.
  • Hours are part-time (20 hours a week) and are flexible with the student’s schedule.
  • GRAMMY U Student Representative will work from home, at local events, and on campus during regular business hours as well as some evenings and weekends.
  • Student Representative will manage Texas Chapter Campus Ambassadors and implement and execute membership growth strategies and plans for GRAMMY U.
  • Additional projects may include organizing campus meetings, assisting at Chapter events, promoting national GRAMMY U opportunities, representing GRAMMY U at membership outreach opportunities with other organizations and companies, writing event recaps and online event listings, developing social media strategies, spreadsheet management and tracking, and research.

FALL 2017 TEXAS CHAPTER INTERN

Requirements

  • Be a GRAMMY U student member.
  • Be currently enrolled in a college/university.  One year of course work towards degree in related field is preferred.
  • Provide a letter from school stating that Intern will receive college credit for The Recording Academy internship.
  • Be a junior, senior or graduate student.
  • Have personal access to a computer and internet to complete duties.
  • Have at least $300,000 in vehicle insurance (this position requires occasional travel to and from events and meetings).
  • Be able to work independently from home and attend staff meetings (via video conference if outside of Austin or in-person if residing in Austin).
  • Display an interest in music and a commitment to a career in the recording industry.
  • Possess strong leadership and organizational skills as well as verbal, written, and analytical abilities. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) is essential.
  • Be self-motivated with the ability to manage important tasks and priorities.

Description

  • Internship duration is for a semester (12 weeks or equivalent).
  • Hours are part-time (20 hours a week) and are flexible with the student’s schedule.
  • The Chapter intern will work from home, at local events, and on campus during regular business hours as well as some evenings and weekends.
  • Intern will assist Chapter staff with database management, spreadsheet management and tracking, research, event preparation and execution, and event recaps.
  • Additional projects may include assisting the GRAMMY U Student Representative with organizing campus meetings, assisting the Project Manager in social media strategies for Chapter events, writing blogs and uploading media galleries for GRAMMYPro.com, assisting Membership Manager at membership outreach events, representing GRAMMY U at membership outreach opportunities with other organizations and companies, attending GRAMMY U meetings and conference calls.
