Last week was Austin’s South By Southwest Music Festival and the Texas Chapter hosted its annual GRAMMY Block Party at the Four Season Hotel lawn for over 700 members and their guests from across the nation.

The event featured unforgettable performances by Texas Chapter members including Randy Rogers Band, multi GRAMMY-nominated rapper Bun B with DJ Rapid Ric, “A Tribute to Leon Russell” performance formed by fellow Oklahomans from the multi GRAMMY-nominated band Hanson, and the return of the GRAMMY-winning super group, Los Super Seven.

During the Hanson & Friends’ “Tribute To Leon Russell” performance, which celebrated the music legend who passed in late 2016, artist Eric Waugh painted live within the 40 minute set a Tribute To Leon Russell portrait that will be donated to MusiCares and auctioned in November 2017.

Members had the opportunity to network with fellow industry colleagues from various Chapters, enjoyed food and drinks on the lawn with a view of Lady Bird Lake, and were gifted with a necklace or bracelet with their choice word from the MyIntent Project.

Members also had the opportunity to participate in a raffle for a coveted Consuela hand bag, an apparel company based in downtown Austin who also generously gifted handbags to the artists performing that evening.

The Texas Chapter appreciates its 2017 GRAMMY Block Party sponsors: Attorney Ricky Anderson, Consuela, Digital Radio Tracker, DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group, GSB Music Group, Live Music Tutor, Markey’s Rental & Staging, and MyIntent.
