What was your first live music experience?
Dizzy Gillespie at the Rialto Theater. Absolutely blew my mind, Sonny Rollins played that night as well. Still one of the best nights of music in my life.
What is your favorite GRAMMY moment?
Whitney in '94 is a standout. Kendrick and Imagine Dragons, Prince and Beyonce in '04, Pink hanging from the rafters was dope. I've seen video of Michael Jackson in '88 doing "The Way You Make Me Feel" that's bananas.
Why did you choose your profession?
After realizing that I really enjoyed the process of making albums most of all, I found that by being a producer/engineer I could make many records a year as instead of 1 album every 2 years as a performer. This was very appealing to me.
What are your 2 favorite albums?
Tough one. Right now its John Coltrane - A Love Supreme and Dr. Dre - The Chronic
