The Recording Academy® celebrated the blues music community in Memphis on May 7, with a lunch reception prior to the Blues Music Awards ceremony that evening. Attendees were welcomed by Jon Hornyak, Memphis Chapter Sr. Executive Director and learned about the importance of participating in the GRAMMY® Awards process from the Awards Department's Marina Martinez, Memphis Chapter Trustee Ken Shepherd and Chicago Chapter Governor Michael Freeman. Alligator Records' Bruce Iglauer introduced performers Jarekus Singleton and Selwyn Birchwood, who entertained while attendees enjoyed food, drink and networking.
