Last week, the Atlanta Chapter held their GRAMMY U Breaking Into The Business: Speed Networking Event at the University of Georgia.  This event is generally one of the most highly-attended GRAMMY U Events in the Atlanta region.  One conference room turned into a music industry playground with over 80 students in attendance, and panelists who work in all aspects of the music industry. GRAMMY U Representative Taylor Poole set the scene.

Spread around the room were 12 tables, each hosted by an industry professional panelist, and each panelist's table hosted 8 students at a time. With a time limit of 7 minutes per table, the resumes and networking conversations flourished.  After the 7 minutes, students moved within the traffic pattern to the next table, eager to learn about the next realm of the music industry.  With handshakes and smiles as currency, GRAMMY U members bought as much knowledge as time would allow.  Once one full loop of table switching occurred, GRAMMY U students were able to visit previous panelists more than once depending on their career interests.

A rousing success, the Speed Networking event provided insight into different career paths in the music industry, possible internship opportunities, and a face to face connection that most GRAMMY U students will consider priceless.
