Philadelphia - GRAMMY U SoundChecks With Bruno Mars

GRAMMY U's picture

GRAMMY U Students met up with Bruno Mars’ tour manager, Shaun Hoffman, outside of the Wells Fargo Center’s box office. The group of about 30 GRAMMY U students were led into the empty arena greeted by Bruno Mars and his band, The Hooligans, playing an impromptu song that went something like “Soundcheck Party”, repeated until we were seated. Bruno, accompanied by The Hooligans, explained the rules of the soundcheck. The students pick any song by any artist and he’ll perform it. It started with Cardi B and ended with The Strokes, a true rockstar. He joked with the GRAMMY U group as if they were friends, really made every person feel connected. Bruno took questions from the GRAMMY U students, explained the the way it felt to perform on the Superbowl and gushed over Beyonce’s presence. He reminded students that there's no short cuts and that hard works shows. At the end of his soundcheck, Bruno invited us to his show and made sure to arrange tickets for all students present.
