On Thursday, October 19th, a group of GRAMMY U members from the Philadelphia Chapter had the opportunity to attend a sound check with Zedd at the Electric Factory in Center City. Zedd’s Echo Tour came through Philadelphia for two consecutive nights, following the success of singles such as "Stay," featuring Alessia Cara and "Clarity," featuring Foxes.

The students were met by Zedd’s tour director,  Ken Floyd, who spoke to the eager minds about what life is like on the road, producing a tour of Zedd’s capacity, and the masterminds that are behind the scenes of every EDM tour. Zedd has a very large team that accompanies him on his tour to make sure all aspects of his performance like lighting, video, stage assembly are covered, along with many other important factors. Ken was able to discuss prospective careers with all of the students.

After speaking with the his tour director, Ken, Zedd himself came and spoke to the students about the creative process behind his music and collaborations, as well as what life is like touring as a DJ. Students, ranging from aspiring DJs to aspiring industry leaders, listened attentively hoping to gain insight into their future. After an in depth conversation with the students, Zedd took a group photo with them and then went on to prepare for his big show.
