The Recording Academy and the Producers & Engineers Wing presented a GRAMMY Pro Studio Summit at Esplanade Studios in New Orleans on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. The studio summit featured a Keynote Conversation with 20-time GRAMMY-winning recording engineer and producer Al Schmitt. GRAMMY winner Elliot Scheiner served as our Honorary Studio Summit Chair and offered opening remarks. The event was rounded out with panel discussions and breakout sessions: Surround Sound demonstration with Elliot Scheiner, In The Mastering Studio with John Fischbach and Brad Blackwood, the Producer/Engineer Relationship and Making Records with Mac, which featured engineers and musicians who worked on Dr. John records over the years. The panel even included Dr. John himself. The event ended with a closing reception sponsored by ELS Studio Premium Audio.
