Chapter Service
Are you a working music professional interested in serving along with a dynamic group of Recording Academy leaders? If so, we encourage you to submit an application to be considered as a Chapter Governor.

What are the responsibilities?
Simply put, Recording Academy Chapter Governors work with the Chapter staff to build and strengthen the region’s community of music professionals. They form an advisory board that assists the Board of Trustees, the Chair, and the President regarding Chapter policy and operations.

The primary responsibilities are to participate in board meetings, committees, and programs and to connect the Chapter to the music community to ensure its relevance and dynamism. Governors serve two-year terms.

Submission Process:
To submit yourself for consideration, log in to and fill out the Governor Candidate Form by the submission deadline Thursday, February 15, 2018.

Please keep in mind that submitting a form does not guarantee that you will be included on the ballot. Submissions received online are reviewed by each Chapter’s Nominating Committee for inclusion on the ballot, but there are limited spots available each election. The Chapter’s Nominating Committee is committed to achieving diversity of profession, genre, gender, age, ethnicity and decides on the best candidates to present to its membership.
