October 18-21 - New York - Audio Engineering Society Convention
The Recording Academy® Producers & Engineers Wing® hosted a series of meetings at the Audio Engineering Society (AES) Convention in New York City, where it presented its Advisory Council, Manufacturer Council, and a group of university educators with the newly updated Recommendations for Delivery of Recorded Music Projects (available here), as well as the Recommendations for Hi-Res Music Production (available here). It presented a panel called “High Resolution Record Production and Why It Matters,” moderated by Michael Romanowski and featuring panelists Leslie Ann Jones, Chuck Ainlay, Marc Finer, and Bob Ludwig. P&E Wing Managing Director Maureen Droney spoke on a metadata panel called “New Developments in Studio Metadata.” The P&E Wing arranged for Congressman Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY, Brooklyn) to visit the AES Convention on District Advocate Day, where he met and spoke with Academy members about the Fair Play Fair Pay and AMP Acts, and also managed a quick visit to experience immersive audio with Dolby Atmos in the JBL demo room.
