San Francisco - District Advocate Day

Date:

Calling All SF Chapter Members: Join The Chorus For Creators' Rights

Be A District Advocate

On one day each year, you have a unique opportunity to make an impact in music policy by speaking directly in person to your legislator. At District Advocate day on Oct. 18, members of Congress from across the country turn their attention to you: the music advocate.

You and fellow SF Chapter members in your area will meet with congressional representatives for your district on District Advocate day, October 18.
That may be CA12/Nancy Pelosi, CA13/Barbara Lee, CA14/Jackie Speier, CA2/Jared Huffman... wherever you live, you will have the chance to speak directly to your representative about protecting music creators.
Details will be announced about meeting times and locations for your district, and on Monday, September 11 we will also be having a Town Hall mixer event to rally and prepare you and fellow members in your towns for your District meetings.

As you no doubt have read in music publications, there has been a flood of activity in music policy lately. This is directly related to the impressive activism of music creators themselves. Your voice is being heard more than ever—and it is your voice that will make positive change in our community.

Last year on District Advocate day, more than 2,000 of your fellow Academy members raised their hands to participate. This year, we hope you'll join the SF Chapter to make our voices heard even more powerfully.

Sign up today and join the nation's largest grassroots movement for music. The growing chorus for creators’ rights needs your voice.
