On June 8, one influential music figure sat down to talk to another, his long-time friend in the industry and fellow past Chair of The Recording Academy Board of Trustees at Google Fiber in Austin.

Terry Lickona, Executive Producer of Austin City Limits—the only television show to have been awarded the Presidential Medal of the Arts and is a Rock & Roll Landmark in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame—met with GRAMMY-winning legendary music mogul Jimmy Jam. They have both served as Chair Emeritus for the Recording Academy's Board of Trustees. Terry talked with Jimmy about his impressive music career which features countless hit records with Janet Jackson, Boys II Men, the late George Michael, New Edition, and more. Members from the Austin area were invited to listen to the conversation, filmed for GRAMMY Pro, which covered his songwriting technique, how he works with different artists, the state of the music industry today, and more.

After Lickona concluded his conversation, members in attendance had the chance to ask Jimmy questions and personally shake hands with him after the event.

The Chapter thanks Google Fiber for sponsoring the event; providing their event space and team to help make the event a success.
