What do you do in the music industry?

I'm a songwriter / performer / recording artist

What does being a member of The Recording Academy mean to you?

It means I get to be apart of a community of hard working artists , producers . Means my world gets broader in a really cool way. It's an inspiring privilege.

Tell us about the musical influences and inspirations that helped to shape your career.

I grew up loving the musicians my parents loved - James Taylor , Joni Mitchell , Cat Stevens , Anita Baker . As I get older I started discovering bands on my own. Radioheads' OK Computer changed my life just as much as Patty Griffins Record Flaming Red. I still get a contact high when I stumble on new musical discoveries . I listen to a lot of electronic music . But I would still say I listen to just about everything.

If you weren’t working in the music industry, what would you be doing?

I always had aspirations to be a pilot.

What projects are you currently working on?

Right now - I'm focusing on my most recent release - My new album Bad Baby which came out July 7. Still continuing to write , and playing shows here and there and connecting with artists I love in the meantime.
